Polyvinyl Craftsmen Most Played 2018

Mark E. Smith left us in January so we did a full tribute show which meant there was only ever going to be one winner of our end of year tally up.

The Fall and a couple of other Mark E. spin-offs head the poll with a grand total of 43 plays.

In second spot we have John Dwyer's various bands with 20 plays.

Third place goes to Parquet Courts/Fergus & Geronimo with 19 spins.

In fourth we have Greg Cartwright with 16.

With 11 plays each we have The Wave Pictures/Surfing Magazines and Holly Golightly in joint fifth.

Sharing sixth position are Shannon and the Clams and Ben Wallers, each were played 10 times.

And we have a four-way tie in seventh with Billy Childish, Jack Oblivian, Devo and Ian Svenonius' various guises. 9 plays for each of them.

See you in 2019 x

A Polyvinyl Craftsmen Recommendation

We couldn't make it to thee shed this week so instead of a show here's a recommendation.

If you've seen the documentary Rubble Kings you'll be aware of the Ghetto Brothers. Their 1972 LP Power-Fuerza has been at the top of my wants list ever since I watched the film but it's been too expensive and hard to get hold of. So hats of to Everland who have just reissued it, I now have a copy thanks to Sounds of the Universe. You can get a copy from them here. Check it out on Spotify too.

For those who don't know the Rubble Kings story (you'll kind of know it if you've see The Warriors movie) here it is on Youtube.
