Polyvinyl Craftsmen Transmission 76

While we were recording the show last night we were looking through a book I made each of us with the songs from our first 50 transmissions. It was cool to look back and see who'd played what and when. In another ten shows I'll be able to do a book of our second 50 shows, we've been recording PVC blasts for two years next month. Our aim was always to keep things eclectic, we get bored listening to the same kind of music for 90 minutes and reckon other people do too, mixing it up is much more fun.

This week's show is then a mix of many genres and styles and we are going to try and make the podcasts for 2013 even more varied than usual. Hope you enjoy the music.

Here is thee download.

A Portuguese review for Wobbly Lamps debut EP

When I was in Lisbon a few months back I left some copies of the Wobbly lamps debut EP in Louie Louie, the city's finest vinyl emporium. Whether it was through there of through Facebook, the excellent Portuguese garage rock blog Rock Around the Blog gave the EP a brief review yesterday. Below are both the original Portuguese and the English translation from the site.

"Drella", Wobbly Lamps new 3 track EP will be out on Polyvinyl Craftsmen Records next month. We still have a few of the original release left, get one before they are all gone.

Wobbly Lamps 7'' [Polyvinyl Craftsmen Records 2012]

The new editor (and Podcast) Polyvinyl Craftsmen edits his debut that also serves to Wobbly Lamps debuts, English band from Sarfend.

This EP called "Neon Tee Pee" is composed by three songs with sound forms elastic that permeate the music seemingly without rules.

Crunchy guitar riffs, heavy beats of drums and distorted vocals almost claustrophobic make up the slushy vibrations of the lo-fi garage in line with the post-punk, that best characterizes this album.

Excellent edition, which beyond doubt deserves a good listen.

Polyvinyl Craftsmen Transmission 75

Happy Friday suckas! We've got a crack-a-lacking show for you this week, even more eclectic than usual, Some new stuff, a few Xmas pressies plus a dip into the depths of our collections. We've been shifting sofas to get at record shelves for vinyl that hasn't seen the light of day for a while and digging through 7" boxes under beds. We've got masses of records that maybe haven't been played on the shows as we sometimes concentrate on the new stuff we buy. Plenty of neglected treasures to come this year as we mine for long neglected nuggets.

Some of them were released in 2012 and some of them weren't, the only thing they have in common is that we've enjoyed playing them over the last year and felt that they deserved hearing again.

This show is sponsored by Cornwall's best home brewed cider Countyline Moonshine, cheers Neil!
